Argan tree reforestation

The argan tree is an essential species to the economic and ecological balance of the region:

  • Its very hard wood is used in construction or as fuel, its leaves as fodder for goats and kernels for the argan oil production,

  • Its deep roots are an excellent barrier against desertification,

  • Under his shadow live a rich fauna and flora,

  • Thousands of people live directly or indirectly from its culture.

Marocavie is financing a reforestation and irrigation project of the Argan forest in the commune of Tinzert, in the province of Taroudant: hoeing and making of the basins of most plants, replanting, continuity of irrigation.

Partners of this project: AgroTech, the social development agency, UNDP Morocco, Atlas Souss organization.
